On Juice Jam weekend, there were a total of 24 DPS reported incidents.

Rates of intoxication, personal injuries and larcenies spiked near and on the Syracuse University campus since the start of the school year.

Since Aug. 24, more than 130 incidents have been reported to the Department of Public Safety. There have been 34 reports of public intoxication, 24 reports of personal injury and 17 reports of larceny, according to the DPS crime log. The DPS crime log has not been updated since Sept. 13.

A spike in public intoxication reports occurred during Juice Jam weekend. From Saturday, Sept. 7 to Monday, Sept. 9, there were 24 DPS reported incidents, 12 of which were reports of intoxication. Six reports occurred at 621 Skytop Road, near Skytop Field, where Juice Jam was held.

Between Sept. 1 and Sept. 5, ten larcenies took place near campus. DPS Chief Bobby Maldonado previously said larcenies are the most common crime on college campuses, and they tend to increase at the start of the year.
